“The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round” popped into my head this morning, as I was considering writing a blog on the subject of mindset. These words, to one of my grandson, Kenny’s, favorite nursery school songs, tell the story of a little bus that travels in a circle but always ends up at the same spot. It started me thinking about “mindsets” and how continually focusing on negative thoughts keeps us from getting what we want in life.
Albert Einstein once said,
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Yet we go on thinking, believing, and allowing the negative mind chatter to influence us and guide our actions. Then we wonder why we are not getting the happiness we want in our life. The answer is simple: we are standing in our own way.
Get Out Of The Way!!
If you want to see your life change, challenge your mindsets. After all, a belief is just a thought you’ve been thinking long enough to believe it’s true. Allow a kernel of a new idea to come in, and watch things change. Play the “wouldn’t it be nice if game” and create whatever you want the “if” to be. Spend time each day thinking, and dreaming about things that make you feel happy and soon those things will begin manifesting into your life.

Great post Jean! Working and interacting with small business owners everyday, it’s amazing how much their scarcity mindset holds them back… especially in times with the economy in flux.
I agree that the beginning of one’s success starts with the belief that they can (and deserve) to have it! One of the reasons I firmly believe that everyone should have a coach to keep them functioning in a space of abundance.
Thanks Dean.
It is true that what we learn as children about money, worthiness, and success has a profound effect on our life. Childhood beliefs remain stored in our subconscious mind or as Wayne Dyer calls it our “habitual mind.” Although we become adults, our “habitual mind” continues to retrieve those beliefs and mindsets, much like the operating system that runs our computer, and they influence how we feel and act.
The business owner who comes from a “scarcity” mindset believing that it is difficult to succeed in this economy is replaying the programming of failure. He or she expects to meet up with resistance, at best, but more likely a “no” on his or her next sales call.
We are energy beings capable of sensing how others feel. Why would you expect a prospective client to believe that you are the right person to do business with, if you don’t consciously create and project that image?
